Team Profiles

Warren Garth

Warren founded CATS Accountants in 1998.  He is a 30 year member of CPA Australia, has been a member of the Institute of Chartered Secretaries, Australia since 1986 and is also a Tax Agent.

Prior to establishing an accounting practice, Warren worked at an Executive/Director level with BOC, both in Australia and overseas.  With the combination of running his own practice and his extensive corporate background, Warren is able to offer clients a broad knowledge of business from all angles.

With his management background Warren has seen CATS Accountants develop into a team of caring and empowered individuals with the emphasis on his values of respect, integrity, quality and empathy.

In his “spare time” Warren is the treasurer of both the Central Coast Business Enterprise Centre and the Wyong Chamber of Commerce.  He finds it extremely rewarding supporting local business – from people starting out on a new venture to those who are more well established.

Warren enjoys the challenge of not only helping people to meet their obligations from a taxation perspective, but to also assist them to understand the intricacies and responsibilities of running a business of any size.

Kerry Garth

In the mid 1990’s Kerry and Warren Garth, working from their home office, founded what would eventually be, CATS Accountants.

Kerry’s background is in administration in the legal profession, both within Australia and internationally.  With her accumulated skills and experience her area of expertise at CATS Accountants is MYOB and bookkeeping.  Kerry finds it extremely rewarding liaising with clients and keeping up with the changes in the world of small business.

Kerry has a vibrant personality and an unrelenting positive outlook on life. With the help of her passion for belly dancing, Kerry always adds a touch of sparkle to the team and the clients of CATS Accountants.

Angie Budd

In May 2005, CATS Accountants was fortunate to have a bubbly and vivacious high school student work with them for a week to find out what it was really like working in an accounting practice.  Angie’s attitude and aptitude were so well suited to the team that CATS Accountants employed her on a part time basis as a receptionist while she finished her HSC.

Currently studying for her Commerce Degree, Angie as a Trainee Accountant, is  dealing with all aspects of accounting for our clients with small to medium sized businesses.

Angie is an inspirational team member and is always enthusiastic for our firm to be efficient and productive. Her passion for life ensures that working with her is a constant pleasure not only for our clients but also for the team at CATS Accountants.

Tressa Rootsey

After 15 years of experience across various industry groups on the Central Coast and Sydney, Tressa decided her goal was to study for an accounting qualification and work with an accounting firm.

In February 2007, Tressa commenced with CATS Accountants as a receptionist and administrative assistant. Due to her enthusiasm for learning, she very quickly launched into the role of a Trainee Accountant and has well and truly embraced the challenges of preparing a wide range of individual tax returns.  Tressa completed her Accounting Diploma in 2010.

With her friendly and welcoming attitude, Tressa thoroughly enjoys meeting with clients and scrutinizing their information to get the best possible outcome.  A vibrant and energetic team member, Tressa is also our resident Reiki and crystals expert.

Timothy Garth

Tim joined the team at CATS Accountants in late 2008 after completing his HSC.

Working part time with CATS Accountants, Tim is studying for his Commerce Degree. His excellent academic record (including scholarships and a CPA award) indicate that Tim has an immense capacity to learn and grow. Perfect attributes for the ever-changing accounting profession.

As well supporting the team on an administrative level, Tim is a Trainee Accountant who handles all aspects of accounting work for our small business clients.

Tim has a passion for snow skiing and enjoys keeping fit to play Aussie Rules for Terrigal Avoca.  Tim’s drive, determination and positive attitude, should see him become a fundamental member of the team at CATS Accountants.

Daniel Osborne

The team at CATS Accountants identified that, for them to become more efficient, they needed strong support with their administrative duties.  Dan filled that role with a minimum of fuss in July, 2010.  His focus and attention to detail has seen Dan’s duties expanded to assisting with and preparing Individual Tax Returns.

Working with CATS on a part time basis whilst completing his Commerce Degree, Dan has become indispensable.  The team can relax in the fact that Dan understands that every task, no matter how small, is crucial to running a successful business.

Dan has a passion for film, theatre and plays the guitar which is a great balance to the thrills and spills of working in an accounting practice.

The team can all see a bright future for Dan in other areas of the business – with our growth to date, we might be searching for a new administrative assistant in the very near future!
