ATO Delay Processing Tax Returns
Important Announcement for Clients
At the beginning of this year, the ATO halted processing of tax returns to work on its systems and refresh the format of the Notice of Assessment. The ATO's decision has created many problems and has led to long delays for those whose tax returns were lodged after the 4th of January this year.
This has affected all accountants nationwide, with the ATO releasing on Thursday 15th April that their oversight had led to 140,000 refund cheques not being printed. However, the ATO has committed to fixing this error quickly, meaning if you're still waiting on your tax refund it should hopefully arrive soon.
